Well, that’s what this article covers. Here, I will discuss: What is the SAG-AFTRA Strike? What are some of the reasons behind it? When did the recent SAG-AFTRA Strike happen? And finally, the venue locations. That being said, I have only mentioned the locations briefly.

What is SAG-AFTRA?
SAG-AFTRA is known as the Screen Actors Guild – American Federation of Television and Radio Artists. Additionally, this American Labor Union was formed in March 2012.
It consists of 160K TV and Film Actors, Influencers, RJs, Musicians, Voice Artists, Models, Media Personalities, and so on. Though remember, this isn’t Sag AFTRA Strike Broadway: Meaning, no stage performers are involved in the strike whatsoever.
Moreso because, SAG-AFTRA Strike strictly consists of professionals from Television, Movies, Feature Films, and Online Streaming.
Essentially, SAG-AFTRA is a combination of two terms SAG, which was formed in 1933, and AFTRA, which was formed in 1937. Generally, this Strike occurs when the union members refuse to do their respective job for better negotiations.
And these negotiations include enhanced income, working conditions, and contracts.
When Did The Most Recent SAG-AFTRA Strike Occur?

What Are The Sag Aftra Strike Demands?
There are various demands behind the SAG-AFTRA Strike. However, the common demand is the difference between the employee’s salary expectation and the huge gap between what they are receiving.
In addition to that, employees also raised their concerns over healthcare benefits, better working conditions, safety, etc.
Moreover, this SAG-AFTRA Strike can help employees to negotiate their concerns. Hopefully, soon enough, the employees will receive their compensation.
SAG AFTRA Strike Rules That Participants Must Follow
There are five basic rules that SAG AFTRA Strike members must follow. That being said, the following are the set of rules released by the team of SAG-AFTRA Strike:-
- “No member shall render any services or make an agreement to perform services for any employer who has not executed a basic minimum agreement with the union, which is in full force and effect, in any jurisdiction in which there is a SAG-AFTRA national collective bargaining agreement in place. This provision applies worldwide.”
- “No member shall render any services, or make an agreement to perform services, for any employer against whom the Union is conducting a strike, nor shall any member otherwise violate any strike order of the Union.”
- “Members must not cross SAG-AFTRA picket lines, subject to the exceptions outlined in SAG-AFTRA’s Notice Regarding Non-Struck Work.”
- “Members must inform SAG-AFTRA of all strikebreaking activity by emailing SAGAFTRAstrike@sagaftra.org.”
- “Members must instruct their agent and/or other representatives to discontinue conducting negotiations on their behalf with the studios, streamers, and networks for covered services.”
The rule for Non-Member:
“Any non-member seeking future membership in SAG-AFTRA who performs covered services for a struck company during the strike will not be admitted into membership in SAG-AFTRA.”
