Day by day, Threads’ popularity is increasing. People have queries about whether Threads is indeed better than the Bird app. While Twitter has been in the business for over 16 years, that too with versatile device compatibility, accessing Threads on a Desktop is still a task.
Regardless, there are a few workarounds that would help you access Threads on your Desktop. Might I add the methods were long and exhausting, but I have mentioned the easier ones in this article. So, let’s begin with 3,2,1!
Are Threads Available On Desktop?
Currently, Threads is not available on the Desktop.
In fact, not only Desktop but Threads is also not available for web versions on any device.
So, if you want to access the platform, simply head to either Google Play Store or App Store for your respective Android or Apple devices.
However, Meta’s CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, is appreciative of the feedback.
So you can expect an update in the future. But again, keep in mind the platform is still in the early stage, so the Threads web version may not come anytime soon.
How To Use Threads On Desktop?
As mentioned earlier, there is no direct way to use Threads on Desktop.
But then again, there are a few workarounds that you can implement. But again, keep in mind these workarounds are lengthy. That being said, the following are Two methods:-
Method One: Threads Website
As of now, Threads is not compatible with Desktop. However, what you can do instead is visit the public Threads profile of any person you want to stalk.
On that note, open your web browser and type https://www.threads.net/@(username).
For example, https://www.threads.net/@zuck.
Keep in mind if you try to like, comment, or share the post, then Threads immediately redirects you to a QR code. And with the help of that QR code, you can install the Threads application on your mobile device.
This method is best for simply viewing the feed on the Desktop.
Method Two: Android Emulator
Android Emulators are legal, so don’t worry; this procedure is risk-free. All you need to do is choose either one of two Android Emulators: Bluestacks and NoxPlayer.
Once you have made your choice, follow the steps mentioned below:-
Step 1: If you are operating Nox Player, head to the App Center.
Step 2: Further, click on the G icon that’s located at the top-right corner.
Step 3: Your profile will pop up on the screen.
Step 4: Now, sign up with your Google account.
Step 5: If you are operating Bluestacks, head to App Center.
Step 6: Google Play window will open.
Step 7: Click on the search icon at the bottom of your screen.
Step 8: Sign in whenever the prompt is shown.
Step 9: Now, search for Threads Instagram in your respective Android Emulator.
Step 10: You will locate a blue Install button on the right side of your screen.
Step 11: Finally, log in with your Threads credentials.

Final Verdict: Are Threads Available on Desktop?
As of now, Threads is not available on Desktop or any web version for that matter.
However, Mark Zuckerberg (Meta’s CEO) is open to recommendations, so you can expect the official Desktop/ Web version to launch anytime in the future. In that case, I will keep the page updated!
Having said that, for the time being, you can opt for Android Emulators. There are two options; you can either go for Bluestacks or Nox Player. I have provided step-by-step guides on both Emulators to install the Desktop Threads in the article above.
